Common Causes Of Insomnia – It’s Good To Know
There are several common causes of insomnia which are all related to one another. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, then chances are that you have the most common sleeping disorder known — insomnia. The person who suffers from insomnia basically has a difficult time getting to sleep and maintaining sleep. For most people, this is a disorder that affects every aspect of their lives and one they would prefer to get rid of; tonight, if possible. A positive note on insomnia is that there are some types of this disorder that generally resolves themselves.
Generally, if you are suffering from insomnia for a physical reason, you can expect it to go away on it’s own. In other words, if you can’t sleep because you are in pain or you are sick, you can expect to sleep better once you are well or the pain is gone.
Stress, anxiety and depression are among the top common causes of insomnia in people. Anxiety and depression are both generally, but not always, caused by stress. You find stress in every thing that you do and in every interaction with other people, whether it be work and your boss, or at home and with your friends and family. Many people fear stress itself while others revel in it because it urges them to work hard and reach their goal. The reason why this is one of the top common causes of insomnia is because a lot, if not all, people in the world are exposed to stress. Stress can be seen in the work place, at home and when with family and friends or with other employee and employers.
Another of the common causes of insomnia is anxiety; it is difficult to either fall asleep or stay asleep if you are feeling fear or anxiety about a situation. Anxiety and fear due to stress is also a common theme in the lives of most people these days. Whether you are an adult or a child, when you are in your bed alone and everything is quiet, whatever has caused you stress during the day can come back to cause fear and anxiety that will prevent adequate sleep. There are also other things to be anxious or fearful for such as loss of work, loss of loved ones and many others.
Depression is also among the common causes of insomnia in people. As a common cause of insomnia, depression can be torture for some people. The overwhelming feeling of loss and loneliness can be the very epitome of what causes insomnia. A depressed person often has physical reactions to the feelings inside him. A person who is depressed will not only suffer from insomnia, but will become lethargic or more anxious due to the slowing down of the body that naturally occurs as a result of the depression.
