Being tired is something that everyone suffers from, from time to time. Being tired all the time is all pervasive however; affecting mood, health and making even the simplest of tasks difficult to complete. Step One – A Good Night’s Sleep. As obvious as this sounds, sticking to a regular routine with set times for going to bed and getting up in the morning will have amazing results. If relaxing and letting sleep in is hard, reading a book or doing a crossword in bed can really help. Look for 6 to 8 hours sleep as a guide.
A common cause for tiredness is due to stress and, as such, this should try to be reduced to minimum levels. It will immediately cause good feelings in any case, and will help to have uninterrupted sleep. Often, stress is hard to combat; if you feel you are struggling to cope and cut down on triggers, it is always advisable to seek professional help.
Taking regular exercise is another great way to tackle feeling tired all the time. It will also boost general health at the same time. Nothing major is needed, but rather than sit down immediately after getting home, going for a walk, a swim or a jog will help boost endorphins, increase blood flow, and make sleep all the easier to achieve at night.
Supplementing such lifestyle changes with a good diet is important too. Fatty foods and sugary drinks should be kept to a minimum; as should processed and fast foods. Nuts, vegetables, wholegrains and fruit should be upped substantially, alongside six cups of water each day.
These four steps in how to overcome tiredness, dedicatedly stuck too, should see great improvements across the board. Another tip however is learning when to say no to going out. Time alone helps a great deal and, disappointed friends and family will soon notice the positive change, and be a lot happier too, despite having an invitation refused.
